mtl surf update for décembre

a warm autumn for sure, but the water’s getting cold so the thickest neoprene is out of the closet and forever drying in the furnace rooms and bathroom corners of our fair isle.  to make things worse, the primary ledges are gros-mouton and flat-fest, respectively

However, there is a secret spot, hidden deep in the carrefours of the hedonistic enclave to our north.  in the promised land, the boulevards are wide, the stores cube-shaped, the parking plentiful, the wave never changes and the water’s always warm…  count on the Ironman to hook-up a groupon for the bro

in LAVAL - you don’t need to be Olli or Oz to rock rotations.   no paddling, no forecasts, a shallow learning curve and strict line-up enforcement..  whiplash aside, what a dream…

the viewing gallery has seats, snacks, all kind of lifestyle-wear.. and most importantly - the urban surfer’s best friend - fluro wax.

When you look at what we’re dealing with riverside.. $1/minute is almost a tempting proposal…

Or you could forgo the luxe, build a hand-board out of a discarded cupboard, pack on the discount neoprene and shred solo all day long.. (click for full res)
